OVERVIEW

Filter-pro has been developed to overcome one of the great problems common to a large proportion of water filtration systems.

When a water supply from either surface or subterrainium sources fails to meet potable standard there is a need for extraction of either sediment, mineral content or harmful impurities. Passing the water through various filter mediums has been an established practice for a long time now. However, the filtration media having trapped the unwanted material finally can not continue to do so without becoming too great a resistance to the water passing through it.

Reversing the flow of water through that contaminated medium to flush out the majority of foreign build up has become the acceptable solution. This was always done manually by turning valves to allow water to flow in the opposite direction but in doing so the impure source being utilised to back flush contaminates the clean final stage filter medium.

In highly contaninated water systems backflushing is required to be undertaken several times a day and becomes a real chore for the operator. Automation was the logical next step. After extensive development Filter-Pro was trialed and found to be an exciting addition to the whole picture of water filtration in commercial applications.

The first unit was placed at a Racecourse in 2005 where a huge demand on supply developed due to daily training by many stables. Filter-Pro's success in that situation lead to many more enquiries from dairy farmers to chicken rearers. Filter-Pro's constant demand has seen devlopment into industrial situations where 100's of thousands of litres a day are required.

Success in these situations and continued research and development ensures Filter-Pro products have become more reliable, easier to construct and install, and have a great future in the market place, so much so that specialised manufacturing premises have been established.
